Hi, I'm Courtney Hurt and here is my story:
At 18 I moved from Atlanta (Soufside) to Phoenix, AZ to pursue my rap career with some cool friends. I made a name for myself in the chitlin' circuit while touring the southwest as a solo artist, even joined a band and toured with them, but later decided to look into what else is "out there" for me.
A friend gave me a copy of some CISCO tutorials to learn about networking, but I didn't hold much interest and quickly quit. I quickly discovered Python along with free tutorials and decided to give it a try. YouTube taught me everything that I know; however, it may not work for your learning style... but you should still try it cuz it's FREE.
Eventually a friend of mine in San Francisco called to see if I'm interested in an engineering position. I really didn't know how to react because I was living in Scottsdale with a $17/hr salary – so affording San Francisco seemed financially impossible. Because of past opportunities in the music industry, I knew that these "life-changing" offers don't come by too often, so I accepted this opportunity without question.
As of today I've lived in San Francisco since November 2016.
